$50M Lotto Max jackpot goes unclaimed

No one has the winning ticket for the $50 million jackpot prize in Friday night's Lotto Max draw.

That means the jackpot will be the same for the next draw on Friday, June 25.

In addition, next Friday's draw will include an estimated 55 Maxmillion draws for $1 million each.

It's the third week in a row no one has won the jackpot prize.

There were 30 winning tickets for the 45 Maxmillion prizes of $1 million each that were up for grabs in Friday night's draw.

Among the provinces, Ontario had the biggest number of Maxmillion winners, at 16, while Quebec had 11.

The odds that anyone would have a winning ticket for the jackpot were one in 28 million.

How to Play 7 Card Stud

7 Card Stud is a variant of stud poker. Basically each player receives a mix of face-down and face-up cards dealt in multiple betting rounds.

The 'good' thing is you have all 7 cards to yourself. The 'bad' thing is you may have nothing but garbage on 7th street. Assuming you gone all the way to the showdown, this is where you lose if you have nothing but garbage. **Insert The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Theme**

So basically:

*Two cards dealt face down to each player
*one card dealt face up to each player
*upcard to each player (Fourth Street)
*upcard to each player (Fifth Street)
*upcard to each player (Sixth Street)
*downcard to each player (Seventh Street)

*Showdown...make the best five-card poker hand out of the seven cards you were dealt and best you opponent and you scoop.

Pot-limit Omaha or PLO, as most peeps call it, is a community card poker game similar to Texas hold 'em. Players are dealt 4 cards and MUST use 2 and exactly 2 to make the best hand using exactly 3 of the 5 community cards.

PLO is a game of draws and redraws. Therefore, you should play cards that are coordinated. Position matters more ever than in Hold'em. It's all about Position, Position, and Position. Also, most beginners only focus on the good cards that helps their hand but forget about the bad cards that hurts their hand and helps their opponents.

And since this game is Pot Limit. You can only bet to the size of the Pot.
Which could be all your chips because you flopped the nuts and on the turn or river you believe you still have the nuts, maybe. Becareful and watch your money because you will either have the 'nuts' or this game will make you 'nuts'

Burnout

Even for someone as poker obsessed as I am, burnout is always something to worry about. There's only so many days of grinding it out on the tables in a row anyone can do.

After two and a half months on the road, I've hit my limit. It's time for a break. So, I'm back home in Perth, catching up on my sleep, eating a few home cooked meals, and dealing with all those annoying details that pile up when you're gone for a few months.

For most people, the best cure to burnout is a take some time off and and take a nice little vacation. For me though, since I'm on the road most of the year anyway, a vacation is kind of pointless. I always find that the best way to relax is to go home, not play any poker at all, and just veg out.

Here are my 3 biggest signs that I need a break from the game

1) Not caring if I win or lose.

2) Taking every hand personally.

3) Thinking too much about my last tournament instead of focusing on today.

It all comes down to emotional control. Luckily the solution isn't too difficult. Take some time off, and have a little fun :)

In April, instead of heading out to the WPT at Foxwoods or going down to Bellagio early for the prelim events I think I'll just stay home for a few extra weeks and get my head back on straight. Next up for me is Bellagio for the WPT Championship and then likely Monte Carlo for the EPT Finale.

I just bought my first house, so I'll be spending my time these next few weeks getting ready for the move to Ottawa. Should be exciting.

At the podium, the recently departed gives in his or her TotalRewards card and photo ID. As one supervisor enters the information, including place of finish, into the computer, another announces the name and hometown of the busted player over the PA system in the Amazon Room. After this process is completed, the player receives a small slip of paper with his or her name and place of finish on it. The slip is initialled by one of the floor supervisors.

The runner then takes the player out of the Amazon Room, across the hall, and down a side hallway to the payouts room. The payouts room feels like the waiting area inside of an unemployment center, with a front desk, several waiting chairs behind it (in case of a high volume of bustouts) and several computer terminals and printers behind that. The player gives in his "finish slip" and TotalRewards card again at the front desk, is asked for a taxpayer ID number, and then is directed to one of the computer terminals.

Another Harrah's representative is waiting at each terminal. They provide various tax forms that have to be filled out and also create a tournament payout receipt showing the player's name, address, certain personal identifying information and the amount of money the player has won.

Once all of those forms are completed, there's one more stop -- the payout cage, located inside the same room. There, at one of five barred windows, players can elect to receive their winnings in any combination of cash, chips, check, wire transfer and/or front money deposit at the Rio.

It's a long process, but there is a certain comaraderie in the room. Everyone who is in there has arrived in the same condition -- busted out of the largest, richest poker tournament in the world. Once the initial feelings of disappointment evaporate, many swap stories with each other, congratulate each other, and begin the celebration of a five- or six-figure payday.

It took over 13 hours, 314 hands, and countless bottles of beer for Scotty Nguyen to vanquish his seven distinguished opponents at this $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. final table. An elated Nguyen bearhugged Layne Flack, kissed his wife, and even embraced WSOP Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack in the moments after his victory.

Some would say that Nguyen experienced one of the greatest "blow-ups" of all time at last year's Main Event, where he had the chip lead with 12 players to go, yet ultimately finished 11th. Coming back a year later to win arguably the most prestigious tournament in poker has got to put some of those demons to rest for the now five-time bracelet winner.

"The $50K H.O.R.S.E. event is the best all around player...#1 in the world. Nobody can walk up to me and say, Scotty, you're second, baby" said Nguyen in his post-game interview.

Nguyen also had kind words for runner-up Michael DeMichele. "He's a great up and coming young player. Everyone told me to watch out for him."

When Jeffrey Pollack presented an emotional Nguyen with the Chip Reese Memorial Trophy, Nguyen thanked his friends, his fans, and especially his wife for their support.

"This feels so good, baby. This is it!" he exclaimed with a smile.

Almost. But never happened.

I was just checking to see if my lotto numbers have won
any major prizes in the past 12+ years.

I was shocked to have found that the numbers I've been
playing religiously for the last 9 years have
hit 6 of 6 for $1,000,000.00 in April of '94.

$500,000.00 that would've been life changing money.
What could have been? We will never know.

I have 10 more draws for these numbers. But I think
it's time to drop these numbers for good. I don't
think all 6 will ever show up again.

And if it does, let's hope it's sometime in the
next 10 draws.

Doh I totally forgot about it.
I was going to play this one too.

I was on Stars too the whole time.
Played in a 20 Table SNG finished 38/180
blinds were getting incredibly high and went
card dead in 2 orbits. Down to less than 5x BB
was dealt QJo in the SB and decided this was
the hand. Do or Die. BB (another shortstack but had
me covered) called with TT and no Q came. Game Over :sad:

Prior to going card dead, I was dealt AA twice, KK and AKs.
But the table was so damn tight, couldn't get any action.
grrrrrrr

Was in pretty bad shape from the beginning and was down to 790.
SB 15 BB 30 Guy with 2200+ raised it to 630. I was dealt 77
on the Button. Why is this guy raising so much? nobody was in the
hand and it was folded to me. So guess what? I'm All In baby!
He calls and flips over AKo. The flop didn't help him and I double up.

Down to 18 players, I was dealt ATo in LP, 1 limper and I raise it up. Got 3 callers.
(SB,BB, and UTG)Flop went 2T3 rainbow. Flop got checked around to me and the MoneyMate moves it in. SB and BB folds. UTG calls with KTo. Nice! ATo holds up and I double up.

Was dealt J8o in BB. Folded around to SB who completes the bet.
I checked. Flop went 832 rainbow. SB bet out 800 I raised it to 2000
He called. Ruh Roh! Then the turn came a Jack. He went All In for 6500.
I Had him covered not by much. I called. He flipped over QQ.
My 2 pair Jack and Eights were good. The SB guy was irate.
It was all over for him baby! Called me a stupid donkey on his
way out. I replied "gg" and he said "screw you". Ummm Ok.

I had a huge chip lead. I was the chip leader the entire time at the FT.

Tourney Update:

well it was pretty much a nightmare and was very frustrating.
Took me 10 minutes to finally get to the table. Logged In and was disconnected. Then when I finally got on, I'd already missed the 1st 11 hands. Throughout the entire tournament, the screen would frequently slow down, freeze, or sit me out. Other than that, I did
manage to get Top 5 chip lead thanks to a few key hands:

Hand #17, Raisin Ya raised to 240. sb 15 bb 30. at this point I was already frustrated with the whole software thing and was down to 1345 IIRC, so I'm thinkin' maybe he's got TT or JJ so with A7 suited I'm moving all in. I bet 150. OhioMike raises to 400. I move in and he calls. He flips over A9o for TP. Turn is Jc and I forget what the river was.
The MoneyMate has Jack and Nines. And my All In holds up and bye bye OhioMike.

Last hand, at this point the software was really really bogging down and I was getting very frustrated. I had K8o and flop was 7K6 I think. The guy who knocked me out bet 800 and I moved in. He flipped over AKo and I didn't catch an 8. And this time it was "Bye Bye MoneyMate"

Finished 18/40 for $0.00 and a headache.
I'm not sure I'm gonna play the last 2 tourneys. This may be my last BPT.
Software is very sluggish and I'm not sure if I can take any more of it.

Close but no cigar. Finished 7th 3 spots shy of making it to the
BPT Finals. Still have 3 cracks at it.

Was shortstacked, down to about 3xBB SB 300 BB 600
moved All In with JTo and got called by QQ and AKs.
I am SO DEAD :lol:

A few hands earlier, I was dealt J7o in the BB and PapaHun, who now have won 3 BPT final tickets, went All In and I didn't want to call but I felt I needed to. So I did. IIRC, I had to call about 1300 more leaving me with about 550 if I lost the hand.

He had A2o and Ace High was good.

I think I played alright. Didn't make too many mistakes.

Dumb people stalling and raising when we get close to a milestone hand

Missed it by 281 yesterday.Close but not close enough.Some peeps were off by only 10.

This hand cost me the tourney. 2 minutes before break. Hand for Hand just over. I get pocket 8s in EP or MP. Have 26xBB. Decided to move All In. I've only played 3 hands in the last 2 orbits I think. Was busy over at the other table chasing the milestone. Guy who has me covered not by much calls with AJo. And an Ace falls on the
river and I finished 63rd out of 452 entrants.

I close down the lobby and focused on the milestone hand. It was at Hand #4993997849

So far haven't had any luck hitting the milestone hands but did manage to
pick up a few coins here and there.

Bad Week, Card Dead, Cannot Win

This has been a pretty shitty week.
Been card dead at every site I've played at. Forced to play my D game.
The cards has been so bad I'm seeing the flop btwn 11% and 25%. And when I actually get a hand, it doesn't hold up. QQ runs into AA, KK runs into AK and Ace comes on flop. I simply cannot win. Plus numerous suckouts by total dogshit players. [As Qs]flop goes 92Q, made a pot size bet and guy goes over the top and I call. The Focker flips over 7c5c with 1 club on the flop. Turn is 6h. River is 8h. Down to 4xBB and near the bubble, get dealt pocket 9s...goes all in and got called by someone with QQ. It's been one of those weeks.

not too sure, will have to see if I can get the Hand History. OESD and didn't
connect. This is the 2nd time I have managed to knock myself out with Ace Ten this week. Should have learned by now yet the monkey brain took over yet again.

1 spot shy of winning a Grand Final Ticket. Doh!...anywayz...

Thx to imjusthere4thebeer for being the event host. Had a chance to knock him out when he limped in UTG with AA and I was able to see a cheap flop with Q4. Flopped two pair and we were ALL IN and he was in a world of hurt until the board counterfeited on the river. EVIL!
